My best friend had her birthday this weekend, and it was awesome. One of the highlights was, of course, about me being right. She just saw Batman Begins a couple of weeks ago for the first time, and fell so much in love with it, she declared that the sequel could never top it. I tried to assure her it would, but she doubted me.

She doubts me no more.

Also, went to the zoo today, and Lexie kept handing me her purse, then I would forget for a while that I was holding it. Before long I decided other guests at the zoo observed me, and thanked providence that Portland is such a gay-friendly town.

I would be a clod if I didn’t have this on here. This is the coolest! Take one Awesome Movie, listen to its soundtrack, incorporate the beat-tastic, musical, and other transitory sounds into a mix. Then, to cap it off, show the clips from the sounds on a six-screen blender as your new creation plays. Instant classic.

The first glimpses we got for James Cameron’s first movie since Titanic were… well, puzzling at best. I was unimpressed, as were legions of cinephiles who feared this would be some huge flop. Well. The new trailer puts all that to rest for me. Despite the heavy CGI, a few recycled military elements, and cheesy James Cameron-esque dialogue, this does look like the must see blockbuster we’ve been hoping for this Christmas.

Zeljko works on this Carnival cruise line because Serbians bombed his house during the ’90s. Now he supports his wife and kids by refilling my glass with ice water and sending his paycheck across the Atlantic. This makes me so depressed that I briefly consider buying some Saxon records.
