3 Actors in Two Movies (No Sequels)

Can you name three actors that appear in two completely different movies? No sequels, “Road” movies, or otherwise related content. There’s about to be one example, as Matt Damon, Jude Law, and Gwenneth Paltrow will star, along with Kate Winslet, Laurence Fishburne, and Marion Cotillard in a Steven Soderbergh film called Contagion.

Paramount Pictures

This is the last we saw of these three, in The Talented Mr. Ripley.

The only other Double-Tri-Thespa™ I can think of is Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Tim Robbins. All three were in both Anchorman and Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny.

Oh yeah, there’s also every Adam Sandler movie because he promised his old buddies they’d get roles in all of his movies if he ever got famous.

I’m sure I’m missing another, maybe two, but they are a rare occurrence in mainstream movies.

Oh, I just realized the Mel Brooks Factor. Madeline Khan, Gene Wilder and Mel himself are in three different movies. (facepalm) Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein (voice), and History of the World Part I.

  2. I spent way too much time trying to find another trio. I was stuck on some kind of Ferrell, Vaughan, Stiller, Wilson combo but couldn’t make it work! blargh.

Then I spent a little more time and came across the elusive triple threat/triple play/triple entendre FTW!!!

Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, Joey Lauren Adams = Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

My day is now complete 🙂

  3. crap do these constitute ‘road’ movies?

heh, no but I’d consider them “otherwise related content.” In fact, I should also rule out anything by the same director to avoid obviosos like Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia and Boogie Nights.
