Just the latest bit of vuvuzela irony in a year that has to qualify as the first time a whole lot of attention has been focused on the World Cup. This horn was just asking for memedom when all attention was diverted to South Africa and this tournament that everybody but Antarctica, Canada, and the U.S. cares about. The Internet has not been lacking in pointing out the boring, low-scoring matches, the ties (come on, ever heard of overtime?), and the insidious flopping these “athletes” engage in. At least the American team isn’t doing that.
