I was getting anxious tonight for the next installment of RedLetterMedia‘s review of the Star Wars prequels; so much so that I tripped over this other (4-part) review by the same genius as the famed Episode I The Phantom Menace review (7 parts). Full disclosure: I actually liked Insurrection, precisely because it felt like a throwback to the TV series. But wow, great presentation here as to how bad that movie was.
Anakin’s Dante’s Infernal Argument
01/03/2010This is the kind of thing I loved doing as a student in film editing. Laying around watching movies, and wondering what I could possibly use to sync outside sound bites to otherwise trite scenes. In this case, the scene is from Star Wars Episode III, where Anakin (in his anger, it seems) finally plays his dick card to Padme. The audio is from Kevin Smith’s monumental Clerks, and one of the best dialogues ever filmed. It couldn’t be more perfectly cut here, and the ending is priceless.

The lesson here is when you’re 15, have access to video editing software, and insert your crude humor into the fantastic world of TNG, you can manage to make me ROFL.
The Pulp Fiction Audio Mix
11/02/2009I would be a clod if I didn’t have this on here. This is the coolest! Take one Awesome Movie, listen to its soundtrack, incorporate the beat-tastic, musical, and other transitory sounds into a mix. Then, to cap it off, show the clips from the sounds on a six-screen blender as your new creation plays. Instant classic.
